How Do You Recharge?
This is different for everyone, but the key is to identify activities that leave you feeling refreshed, energized, and even more like yourself. This could be things like sitting in solitude or connecting with others; physical activity or total relaxation; learning something new or taking pleasure in the simple everyday things in life.
How to Make Recharging a Priority:
Carving out time for ourselves can often feel like a chore when we already have a full plate. However, by reframing it as an essential investment in yourself, it becomes less of a burden and more of a priority. Remember, just like they say on planes you have to put your oxygen mask on first in order to help others.
Here are a few steps you can take to get started:
- Schedule it: For many of us, if we don’t plan it, it won’t happen. So intentionally block out time in your week to recharge.
- Start small: Brainstorm ways you can start incorporating simple activities into your routine. This shouldn’t cause you more stress, so think about things that excite you and you look forward to doing.
- Set Filters: Put filters in place to learn what to say yes to and where to spend your time so that you have the most energy possible over the longest period of time.
