Today we’d like to honor a dear friend and mentor that has had a major impact on our lives both personally and professionally for the past 25 years – Kathy Kolbe who passed away earlier this month.

Kathy was a pioneer in the field of Conative Strengths. Her groundbreaking work on the conative part of the mind and how we naturally take action empowered countless individuals to embrace their authentic selves.

In an interview we did with Kathy, we asked her how to help ignite confidence in others and she smiled and said, “Well that’s simple – It’s giving people the freedom to be themselves.” That advice not only had a profound impact on both our family and careers, but it’s something we’ve carried throughout our lives.

The greatest compliment of a life well lived is in the acknowledgment that they left deep tracks for others to follow.
