A Season (and Practice) of Gratitude

There’s a lot to be thankful for this year. Everyone has gone through something — no matter who you are, where you live, where you work, or what you do. Some are celebrating and cherishing their best year yet. Others are grieving and simply trying to make it through their hardest one.

The truth is, everyone is walking through something — the highs, the lows, or somewhere in between.

Even though Thanksgiving isn’t celebrated around the world, its purpose is something we can all embrace:

But that purpose isn’t meant for just one day a year. Thanksgiving is a reminder that gratitude, reflection, and generosity are practices — things we can choose to live out every day.

There will always be good years and hard years. The best things and the worst things will happen to each of us — but how lucky are we that we get to experience it all? That alone is something to be thankful for.

It’s easy to take our lives for granted, especially when we get caught up in comparison or the pace of everyday life. But Thanksgiving reminds us to slow down — to appreciate what we have, who we’re with, and how far we’ve come.
